Veteran’s get help from Saving Our Vets nonprofit

We all know that there are a lot of homeless Veterans roaming the streets looking for help. Most people’s impression of a homeless Vet is that they are alcoholics and druggies. With all my interaction with homeless Veterans, I have found that to be false. The majority of Vets that are homeless is due to a lack employment or a lack of affordable housing in their area.

Looking for a Veterans charity that’s making a difference?

The American Homeless Families Foundation at is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. A Veterans Charity that exists to help Veterans during emergencies and in their time of need, with food, healthcare and homes. Through extensive efforts we are saving Veterans lives. No Veteran should go hungry, suffer from inadequate healthcare or have to sleep on the streets of our great country.

I am setting out on my journey again to hand out Survival Packs to Homeless Veterans. Your donations make it possible for this to happen. Help me continue my journey and donate today!

We handed out Survival Packs and here’s what the Vets had to say…

82 year old Homeless Korean War Vet gets survival pack and new home

This 82 year old homeless Korean War Veteran’s nickname is Dancin’ Jack because he loves to dance every Friday night. He is a very happy man and thanks you for the gifts!

Michelle is a disabled Marine Veteran that was 2 days away from physical eviction. Her husband, Franklin, was out of work for 8 weeks with knee surgery and they were unable to pay their rent. Thanks to your donations, we were able to keep this Veteran from becoming another homeless statistic. Click on the link below to see their Thank you video.

After Hurricane Harvey, we found a Desert Storm Veteran, Gordon, and his family living in their once water logged, now tattered and gutted home. Gordon is the local postman and his wife is still waiting for business to pick up so that she can go back to work. But right now they are living paycheck to paycheck and have no savings to make the repairs to their home.

Because of your generous gifts we were able to replace Gordon’s appliances…

Gordon and Tiana with new side-by-side refrigerator
Gordon gets a brand new dishwasher installed
Gordon, Tiana and Amelia love the brand new washer
Gordon, Tiana and Amelia Thank you!

It’s your donations that have made all this possible. We couldn’t do it without you! Your gift shows you care!

Help us continue  our journey to help more Veterans, please give today!
